Operations Manager - Retail Sales and Field Service

   

Think Water Dunsborough are looking to employ a highly-motivated individual to lead the business and manage staff, based in Dunsborough WA. Reporting to the Directors, you will be as equally talented managing people and projects as managing the P&L of the business. You will take charge of all aspects of the business which will include contractor liaison, staff effectiveness and business growth. Your professional approach to our customers, staff and contractors will be the catalyst for growth and expansion into regional areas.

To be effective, you'll need to develop relationships with key stakeholders across the region. You will be a decisive but fair leader with a quality approach in all you do. You will have a high level of safety knowledge and high expectations for safe systems of work to be part of the business culture. You will be a hands-on leader with good irrigation industry experience and people management skills.

With a well established presence in Australia and New Zealand, we are seeking to appoint a brand ambassador to support our current and future objectives for the Group.

The role:

Reporting to the General Manager for the Think Water Group, the primary objective of this position is the development and implementation of business systems, services and strategies that will provide a net benefit to the franchise owners of the Group. The core areas of focus in this role will include:

  • Development and growth of the franchise network;
  • Advice and guidance to franchisees relating to their business performance to improve profitability;
  • Ensuring franchisees are complying with the terms and conditions of their franchising agreements;
  • Managing supplier relationships, contracts and negotiating trading terms;
  • Provision of guidance with business development, marketing and promotional activities from strategy to execution;
  • Retail, merchandising, HR and WH&S support.

The successful candidate:

We anticipate the successful candidate will be able to demonstrate the following:

  • A background in retail operations with a solid understanding of retail and merchandising practices, ideally within a multi store agribusiness setting;
  • Successful track record in negotiating and implementing trading terms with key suppliers;
  • Experience in category management (buying);
  • Ideally a background in franchising or multi store management – running a franchise operation or overseeing the performance of franchise businesses;
  • Experience in developing and implementing business systems to a multi store business;
  • Ability to build and maintain strong relationships at all levels;
  • Ability to work effectively autonomously and be able to travel extensively;
  • Superior skills in problem solving, time management and project management.
  • A leader who works with a high degree of empathy and professionalism and enjoys helping others to succeed.
