New Steel Water Tank System for Macadamia Irrigation

July 2020

Macmandu Nursery is a Macadamia Nut grower located in the Northern Rivers in NSW. Think Water Northern Rivers recently installed a Heritage Water Tanks CT80 steel water tank, with a capacity of 353,947L.

The collection dam where rainfall and irrigation runoff are stored prior to being treated and moved to the steel water tank.

The steel water tank will store water after it has been neutralised for the irrigation system that waters just over three hectares of the nursery and produces Macadamia seedlings for commercial Macadamia orchards.

In this closed-loop system, the collection dam recovers rainfall and irrigation runoff from the nursery where the water is treated to correct pH and to neutralise plant pathogens before it is pumped into the CT80 tank for irrigation.

Greg Jones, Macmandu Nursery Manager was very pleased with the tank system, saying, “We are very happy with the quality of the tank! It’s just what we needed”
